CEIST and Ethos
Mission Statement
Eureka Secondary School is committed to providing a high-quality education that meets the needs and potential of every student, within a supportive environment rooted in Christian values and mutual respect and encourages every student to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society.
We aim to:
- Provide equal opportunities for all students, supporting them to achieve their full potential and preparing them for further education, employment or continued study.
- Work in partnership with parents, employers, local schools, the community and parishes to support our students’ development.
- Support and develop our staff, recognising them as one of the school’s greatest resources and encouraging ongoing professional development.
- Promote respect, responsibility and high standards in both work and behaviour, helping students to become confident, mature and responsible members of society.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment where bullying is not tolerated and all students are treated with dignity, care and respect.
Our School Crest
The crown at the top, originally found on the shield of the Mercy Order, is symbolic of Our Blessed Lady. The open book signifies teaching and learning, while also being a reference to the Book of Kells. Rays of light shine on the book, representing the enlightenment and inspiration provided by education
CEIST
We are a part of CEIST – Catholic Education, an Irish Schools Trust, providing a holistic education in the Catholic tradition. All members of the CEIST community are committed to living the vision and the core values of the Charter. These values have their roots in the Gospel of Jesus and have been central in the tradition of the five founding Congregations. The values promote the dignity of the human person, inspire a Christian vision of the world, encourage the search for truth, wisdom and beauty, and lead to the formation of mature personalities.
